Dr. Yu will realistically discuss your goals with you as you consider facelift plastic surgery. Facelifts are often performed in combination with other facial surgeries, such as a forehead lift (brow lift) or blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) or necklift (platysmaplasty). Volume restoration may be achieved with the addition of facial implants or structural fat grafting. You and Dr. Yu will decide together which procedures will achieve your desired results.

The Facelift Procedure
For your safety and comfort, your facelift will usually be performed under anesthesia. The length of your facial plastic surgery depends upon which procedures Dr. Yu is performing. During your private consultation, Dr. Yu will plan the details of your procedure. Considerations are type of procedure and where to place incisions to minimize their visibility.
Recovery from Facelift Plastic Surgery
Initially, Dr. Yu will probably ask you to keep your head elevated for several days to decrease swelling. Your face may be slightly swollen or bruised for a few weeks. You may also notice numbness for weeks or months following a facelift. The scars become less noticeable over time. Most patients are very happy with the results of their facelift within several weeks of surgery. However, the healing process will frequently take up a year after surgery. Post-operative photos are typically taken one year after surgery.
